Boots No7

In this celebrity-driven, Photoshop-heavy culture, it’s important for ‘normal’ women to feel good about themselves. That was the focus of a new campaign created for much-loved cosmetics brand Boots No7 by our sister agency, Big Dog.

While No7 has been around for 80 years, the brand firmly embraced 21st century technology for the Colour Cosmetics app, which was delivered alongside agencies Mother, M&C Saatchi and OscarMike. The campaign featured street-cast females from a wide range of ages and backgrounds – with no retouching allowed.

The women were invited to tell their own stories about how the No7 cosmetics experience makes them feel, with time-lapse footage demystifying the make-up process. In addition, the responsive nature of the app enabled consumers to access device-appropriate versions to search for products on the move. Meanwhile, an accompanying No7 Facebook page has gone from strength to strength, with fan numbers steadily increasing. The Colour Cosmetics campaign captured the imagination of consumers and the beauty press alike, so much so that the agency is busy working on its next launch for No7.
