ThinkBDW rules the waves with virtual reality at London Boat Show
Marketing agency ThinkBDW has proven itself to be a leader in its field after unveiling a range of fully immersive virtual reality (VR) interfaces for Oundle yacht manufacturer Fairline.
Over just ten weeks, a team of four expert designers from the Colchester company created an exact VR replica of the Targa 63 GTO, which launches this summer.
Complete with a Mediterranean-style vista with the sound of birdsong and lapping waves, the virtual version was produced to the very finest detail, from the Venetian blinds in the master cabin to the cool box in the cockpit.
The tour of the Alberto Mancini-designed yacht was debuted at the London Boat Show at ExCeL, utilising an Oculus Rift headset. ThinkBDW’s UX project manager Andy Scott said: “No other yacht company had similar technology at the exhibition, and it was a first for us.
“It allowed potential customers at the show to get a guided tour of both the stunning exterior and exceptional interior specifications of this highly anticipated new yacht release.”
Miles Moorhouse, Fairline’s marketing director, said: “The virtual reality experience was really well received by all and we are very happy with it. Under the time constraints we gave ThinkBDW, we can’t quite believe the high quality product they’ve given us. They’ve done an exceptional job and we certainly intend to continue our relationship with them in the future.”
ThinkBDW is the UK’s largest specialist property marketing agency with over 20 CGI artists and software developers. The company has been creating high quality interior imagery and interactive sales systems for over 20 years.
