Internship winner has a bright future at ThinkBDW
Leading marketing agency ThinkBDW has welcomed a former intern into its graphic design team.
Rebecca Meekings, 25, has joined the Colchester-based agency full time after impressing the company when she won an internship there last summer following a collaberation.
The talented graphic designer decided to come back to ThinkBDW’s after creative director Dale Hooper was impressed by Rebecca’s work at the agency.
Dale said: “Rebecca was a really strong candidate and we are delighted she has accepted a position with us. I look forward to seeing her progress.”
Rebecca, of Sudbury, started at ThinkBDW last week after spending six months working in London. She said: “I really enjoyed working here. The internship gave me a lot of experience in all the different sorts of things the design team does.
“ThinkBDW gave me a massive confidence boost and they respected all my hard work. I enjoyed my time in London, it was a nice place to work. But I wanted to come back. The company really works for me.”
Rebecca was one of two students from University Campus Suffolk (UCS), in Ipswich, who won the internship collaberation last summer from a pool of 12 competing students.
She impressed the judges with her brochure for a fictitious property development.
Last month, ThinkBDW launched a second competition with the university, challenging more graphic design students to create a brochure with the chance of winning an internship.
Rebecca said: “In my brochure I wanted to try and make something a bit different so I made it more illustration based. I would advise the students to take a gamble.”
